The boots of every Vectra variant are vast

Vauxhall Vectra 1.9 CDTi 16v Club

Test Date Friday, April 21, 2006  Price When New £17,980

Verdict

 6 stars out of 10

We’d rather have a Mondeo, a Passat and certainly an Accord but it’s still worth saying that the Vectra is not so much a bad car as a rather boring one. Actually spend time in one and although, even with the suspension revisions, it’s never going to get you giggling, you’ll not fail to appreciate its ride, quality interior and most aspects of its refinement. It also offers an impressive blend of performance and economy. It’s not enough for it to challenge for class leadership, but it is enough to make it rather better than you might suspect.
