Road Test

Verdict
For those searching for performance from their convertible supermini, our advice is look elsewhere. Even in its petrol guises, the Tigra is not a car for pulse-quickening acceleration. But it is an entertaining drive, nippy around town and adequate out of it, and in diesel form it also offers scaled-down running costs. Add to that a roomy cabin and the kind of luggage space a Smart Roadster owner could only dream of.
It’s also full of charm, thanks to the combination of individual style, a lively engine and the ability to transform from cosy commuter car to weekend roadster. Vauxhall is getting funky. About time, too.
