Mitsubishi Colt CZT review - verdict

Mitsubishi Colt 1.5 CZT

Test Date 31 May 2005  Price When New £13,189

Verdict

 6 stars out of 10

Tough competition was always going to make life difficult for the CZT: it doesn’t have the firecracker engine of a Clio 182, or the solid residual values of a Mini Cooper S. But the CZT, with its low price, great equipment level, spacious interior, decent ride and torquey turbocharged engine, provides a competent all-round package that certainly deserves consideration.
Although we discovered it can provide thrills if driven in the right way, it doesn’t quite inspire like many of our favourite hot hatches. However, there’s the possibility of a 200bhp Ralliart version in the future, and that would likely sort the CZT’s few faults.
