Verdict
A three-star Lotus; what went wrong? The problem is not any intrinsic lack of ‘Lotusness’, for the Europa still feels like a Hethel product, but in its GT ambitions the Europa misses the target.
The refinement gains over an Elise are too thin to make it a genuine TT/Cayman rival and, raw performance aside, the sacrifices are too great. And the price makes a Porsche Cayman look good value.
