Choosing between the Lamborghini and one of its natural rivals, the Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer, is a prime example of how such a decision depends on an individual’s requirements and taste. We refuse to stray into opinions about styling. But what about the answer to that old question: which is the world’s fastest production road car?
As the Ferrari importers said there was something wrong with the Boxer that we tested, and the Countach test car was short of miles and therefore perhaps still a bit stiff, the case continues to rest until both companies offer Autocar fully representative cars for the final test. What a fascinating duel that will be.
