Verdict
Ford’s achievement here is even greater than the sum of its parts. The Focus is as good to drive as it is to sit in, and should hold its value every bit as solidly as it is bolted together. Whichever way you look at it, it’s untouchable as a family hatchback right now.
In short, the Ford Focus proves once and for all that the family hatchback driver has never had it so good. In both relative and absolute terms, it is best car we’ve road tested all year. No car is perfect, but we’re tempted to award 10 stars here, for the Focus is truly an outstanding motor car.
