Verdict

With typical Audi design and finish plus an ability to go beyond the confines of tarmac, the niche Allroad holds deep appeal. It is functionally and emotionally satisfying. What's more, with the Mk2's more road-focused positioning and better ride, the Allroad no longer requires owners to sacrifice comfort to make their lifestyle statement. The Allroad gives little away to the standard Avant, save the £3500 premium, and offers benefits to boot.
