The interior is befittingly high-tech, with a Yaris-style digital instrument display ahead of the driver and a touch-screen display in the centre of the dash controlling audio, navigation and climate functions, although many of these can be operated via steering-wheel buttons or even voice commands.
All but the tallest drivers will have no trouble getting comfy, but although rear legroom is positively limousine-like, the tapering roofline really eats into headroom for those in the back. A high floor means the boot is also shallow and at 408 litres, almost 100 litres smaller than a Mondeo’s. The rear seats do fold down, however, and the cabin is positively bursting with storage cubbies.
The Prius comes in the same T3, T4 and T Spirit grades as other Toyotas and all feature electronic climate control, four electric windows and a six-speaker CD system. Our top-spec T Spirit also has full DVD satellite navigation and Bluetooth telephone interface.
