Volkswagen Polo (05-) 1.2 S (64ps) 3dr Hatchback review
Volkswagen Polo 1.2 64 S Road Test
Test date 21 April 2006
Price as tested £9,622
There was a time when each new Polo seemed assured of class leadership almost by right, but now that all seems like rather a long time ago. Today the car is ageing, despite having already received its mid-life facelift and, with the arrival of such newcomers as the Renault Clio and Fiat Grande Punto, is falling ever further from the class pace. It wasn’t even the best in its class when it was new. Does it retain any residual appeal or should it be struck at once from the shopping list of anyone looking for a small modern hatchback?
