The VX220 has never managed to shake off its image as the Lotus Elise’s poor relation. Vauxhall’s solution? Pump the VX so full of testosterone that its Norfolk house-mate no longer gets a look-in.
On paper at least, that sounds a bullet-proof theory: the VX220 Turbo costs £25,495, does 150mph and is indeed so much faster than the Elise which spawned it that the two cars no longer appear to operate in the same ball park.
