Road Test

Morgan Plus 8

Test date 15 July 1978  Price as tested £6,144

There are a small number of firms producing sports cars of a more or less pre-war style. There is only one which can, without being unkind, be described as a pre-war firm turning out pre-war cars. The company, started in 1910, dates from before the first war, and its cars are essentially pre-Second World War, though there have been many changes. Morgans are survivors, not pastiches like the Panther J72 or Lima. There is also a strong commercial reason for their survival: an order book four years long.
