Jaguar E-type coupe review

Jaguar E-type 3.8

Test date 24 March 1961  Price as tested £2,196

For Gorgeous looks, amazing pace

Against Sometimes awkward driving position

Beneath the shapely aerodynamic two-seater body, construction is similar in many respects to that of the D-type sports-racing car from which the E-type has been developed.

The E-type Grand Touring Coupé is vastly superior to its predecessors in a number of respects. It offers what drivers have so long asked for, namely, sports racing car performance and handling, combined with the docility, gentle suspension and appointments of a town car. It aims to replace the venerable old XK150 with a unique blend of performance and comfort.
