Citroën C4 VTS review
Citroën C4 2.0 16v VTS 180 Road Test
Test date 01 February 2005
Price as tested £18,725
For Styling, convenience features, entertaining handling
Against Short on power and dynamics next to class rivals
The C4’s bold, expressive styling and unique cabin architecture are helping Citroën reclaim its place as a maker of imaginatively designed cars — a real contrast to the utterly ordinary Xsara and ZX that came before it.
Citroën’s heritage of sporting family cars goes back a long way — even the early ’70s GS had a warm X2 version with 65bhp. More recently we had the 155bhp 2.0-litre ZX Volcane of 1994 and the 165bhp Xsara VTS coupé of the late 1990s.
