The M3 CSL is the M Sport division’s most coveted badge. Coupe Sports Lightweight models are a rare breed indeed. No wonder when their conversion is such a difficult task. Stripping weight from production cars means losing luxury features and fittings and shelving hefty safety equipment – neither of which amuses the marketing department. All credit to BMW M for sticking to its guns, then, and producing a car of unique focus.
