Aston Martin V8 Vantage review
Aston Martin Vantage 4.3 V8 Road Test
Test date 29 November 2005
Price as tested £83,000
For Looks and sounds amazing; about as desirable as cars come
Against Hasn't quite got the pace or agility to match the best of its rivals
The ‘V8’ tag once adorned the grand statesmen of the Aston Martin range; rumbling behemoths built with tender loving care in a ramble of sheds at Newport Pagnell.
But just as the company has changed so radically in the past 10 years, so has the meaning of the badge. With the launch of the new V8 Vantage, the baby of the range and a major boost to production volume, the tag has come to stand for aggression, compactness and driver focus. This is a new type of Aston.
